Ted, do the math
In reference to Ted Hargrove’s Letter to the Editor printed in the July 1, 2010 issue of the Freeman’s Journal, I quote Ted verbatim:
``It’s amazing that these two trustees (Jeff Katz and Lynne Mebust) that almost single-handedly have stopped downtown merchants from everything to forbidding sandwich board signs to vending in front of their stores, have beaten up the Legends of Baseball and virtually drove them out of town for excerpting (I don’t know what Ted means by using this word in this context) that they were making a profit off of Doubleday Field.’’
Ted, you have been around long enough and been to enough Trustee Meetings to know that every law passed in the Village has to have the majority vote of the Trustees.
As there are six Trustees, two votes do not make a majority.
As well as checking up on your word usage, do the math.

Team thanks community
The Clark Sports Centers girls basketball teams trip to the nationals was canceled last Friday due to a lack of teams.
The reason given by the officials at The North American Youth Sports classic was that the majority of the teams went to the Chicago site and with the economy struggling, a lot of the qualifying teams could not afford the trip.
Unfortunately, with the late notification our team could not switch to the Chicago tournament because a lot of the girls are away on vacation that week. The girls team and I would like to give a sincere thank you to the parents, the members of the Cooperstown community and the Clark Sports Center who have so graciously given their time and money so that the girls could have an experience they will always remember.
They look forward to moving on to the next level and making the Community of Cooperstown proud. Thank You!!!

I am a candidate to continue with another term on the Cooperstown school board. My background is a graduate degree in technology education and professional experience in financial planning and management and regulatory compliance as director of a nonprofit community development corporation. I started on the Cooperstown board in 1996 and have seen much change in how New York manages public education in funding support, mandates, and expectations.
