THURSDAY, JULY 8

BARBEQUE: Grace Episcopal Church located on Montgomery Street in Cherry Valley will be holding a Brook’s Chicken Barbeque from 4 to 7 p.m. The dinner includes onehalf chicken, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, roll, homemade pie and beverage. Prices are $9.00 per adult and half chickens are available for $6.00.

Take-outs are available. PERFORMANCE: John Mastromoro will perform songs from the 40’s and 50’s at the Lake House from 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.

FRIDAY, JULY 9

BOTTLE DRIVE: Cooperstown BSA Troop 1254 will be having their monthly bottle drive starting at 9 a.m. Place returnables out on the porch/ curb for pickup.

MOVIE: Movie Night at Betty & Wilbur Davis State Park will be held from 7:30 p.m. toá9:30 p.m. The movie showing will be located in new Pavilion at the park. Popcorn and drinks will be available to purchase. The movie is free of charge but donations are appreciated. For the movie title and rating, please call the park at 607-547-8662.

EVENT: The Greater Milford Historical Association launches its 2010 exhibit with an opening party from 6 to 9 p.m. The public is invited to view ``The Eyes of Milford: Photography 1840-2010,’’ a comprehensive exhibit exploring the social history of the community through the lens of the camera’s past. SATURDAY, JULY 10

MARKET: Cooperstown Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with 30 vendors. Located in Pioneer Alley off 101 Main St, Cooperstown. (607)547-6195.

DOG WASH: Bring your dog or dogs to the Susquehanna SPCA between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a bath and nail trim. The services will be done for a minimum donation of $10 per dog.

Reservations are appreciated and can be made my calling, 547-8111. Walk-ins are more than welcome however. The SSPCA shelter is located at 4841 State Highway 28 three miles south of Cooperstown.

BANQUET: The 78th Cherry  Valley Central/Cherry Valley  Springfield Central Alumni Banquet will be held in the Community Center of the old Cherry Valley School. Registration and social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner provided by Brooks’ Barbecue. The cost is $15 a person.

A brief business meeting will follow dinner, and a DJ will provide music for listening and dancing. Reservations are requested and can be made by contracting Ms. Marge Dubben at (607) 547-5301.

EVENT: An opening for an exhibit of paintings and prints by Edward McDaniel will take place at the Cherry Branch Gallery in Cherry Valley from 7 to 9 p.m. A jazz combo will play during the opening. The gallery is located at 25 Main Street, Cherry Valley.

EVENT: Jon Spargo, Springfield High School Class of 1960, will begin a star gazing evening with a talk titled ``Radio Astronomy from Carl Jansky to The Very Large Array (VLA)’’ at 8:30 p.m. in the Beach Front Room at Glimmerglass State Park.

SUNDAY, JULY 11

LIVESTOCK SHOW: The Farmers’ Museum’s annual livestock show will begin Sunday and run through Tuesday on Iroquois Farm Road in Cooperstown. Admission is free, and the public is welcome to attend. Approximately 250 young people are expected to attend and show. Judging begins on Tuesday and awards will be presented Tuesday evening.

TUESDAY, JULY 13

CONCERT: Cooperstown Lakefront Concert Series featuring the Cooperstown Community Band at 7 p.m. at the bandstand in Lakefront Park. Bring, chair or blanket if desired. No charge.

EVENT: The New York State Historical Association and The Farmers’ Museum will host their 7th annual benefit gala, ``Portrait of a Gala,’’ on at 7 p.m.

The gala is an evening of dining, dancing, entertainment, a silent auction and is billed by organizers as ``a highlight of the Cooperstown summer season.’’ Tickets are still available for $175 each. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Laura Gattoni, at (607) 547- 1471.

SATURDAY, JULY 17

BREAKFAST: The Middlefield Volunteer Fire Department and EAA Chapter 1070 will host a Fly-In Pancake Breakfast at the Cooperstown/ Westville Airport on Route 166 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. The allyou- can-eat breakfast features pancakes, eggs, real maple syrup, sausage and beverages. Adults $6.75 and children 12 $4.25.

TUESDAY, JULY 20
