PRESENTATION: United University Professionals (UUP) will sponsor a presentation on the gas industry by Dr. Ronald E. Bishop, Lecturer, Chemistry & Biochemistry, and UUP Health & Safety Officer, at 6:30 p.m., in the Craven Lounge, Morris Complex, State University of New York at Oneonta.

PRESENTATION: Educational meeting of the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society will feature Dr. Stanley K. Sessions, an expert in evolutionary and developmental biology. SUNDAY, FEB. 21

BREAKFAST: Milford Post 1566 American Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of American Legion are hosting a breakfast buffet from 7 to 11 a.m. The all-you-can-eat buffet is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10-years-old. The menu will consist of French toast, pancakes, sausage gravy and biscuits, home fries, eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, muffins, coffee, tea and juice.

The event is sponsored for the benefit of the American Legion.

CONCERT: The Oneonta Community Concert Band presents its 9th annual ``Good Ol’ Summer Time in Winter’’ concert in the FoxCare Center. The concert is at 2:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. The audience is invited to bring their own lawn chairs although chairs will be provided. Donations are accepted to support the band’s operations. For more information, call 432-7977.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 24

PRESENTATION: Phil Metzger of USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service will give a presentation on ag carbon trading to the Otsego County Water Quality Coordinating Committee. The meeting begins at 1 p.m. and will be hosted by the Otsego County Planning Department at 140 Cty. Hwy. 33, Cooperstown.

PRESENTATION: The Friends of the Village Library will host the program ``Hiking the John Muir Trail _ Slide Show and Talk’’ by Barbara and Bill Harman at 7:30 p.m. at the Cooperstown Village Libraryábuilding downstairs meeting room.

SATURDAY, FEB. 27

HIKE: A guided moonlight snowshoe hike will be held at Betty & Wilbur Davis State Park in Westford. Participants are being asked to meet at 7 p.m. sharp in the pavilion parking lot and Joe Ritton, park employee, will lead the hike to Cabin No. 3 where participants can warm up and enjoy refreshments provided by the Friends of Glimmerglass State Park. Ritton will then resume the hike leading participants back to the pavilion parking lot. For more information contact Glimmerglass State Park at 547-8662.

LUNCHEON: Fourth annual Empty Bowls Luncheon to benefit the Cooperstown Food Bank from noon to 2 p.m. at the Hoffman Lane Bistro, features fresh bread and soup served in hand-thrown pottery bowls. A $15 donation will be charged. For additional information, call Donna Bailey Mackie 547-9359.

BENEFIT: The Farmers’ Museum will host an evening of music, food, and activities called ``Heat Up The Night’’ from 6 to 9 p.m. in the museum’s Louis C. Jones Center. The benefit will raise funds needed to provide museum programming for area schools. Adult tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. FIELD TRIP: Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society field trip looking for Short-eared Owls. Participants will meet and leave from the Cooperative Extension Building in Cooperstown at 3:00 p.m.

The building is on Lake St (NY 80) at the north edge of the village. Dress appropriately for the weather. Although there will be minimal walking, it can be windy. Any questions, call Bob Donnelly at 607-264- 8156.

DINNER: The Fly Creek United Methodist Church Annual Indian Dinner. Seatings will be at 6 and 8 pm. Reservations are requested by calling 547-2133, 547-9746 oráemail megk@oecblue.com. Suggested donation $20. All proceeds go to the Fly Creek United Methodist Church.
