FRIDAY, FEB. 5

DANCE: Otsego Dance Society contradance from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Cooperstown. Dancing will begin at 8 p.m. and continue until 11 p.m. Suggested donation is $8 for adults, $4 for students and teen-agers and free for children 12 and under. LUNCHEON: The First Baptist Church of Cooperstown Soup and Chili Luncheon on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prices are $6 for ages 12 through adult, $4 for ages 3 to 11 and free under 3 years of age. The church is located at 19 Elm St.

SATURDAY, FEB. 6

FARMERS’ MARKET: Cooperstown Farmers Market offers meats, cheeses, spices, crafts local apples, honey, maple syrup 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Located off Main Street in Pioneer Alley, Cooperstown. For info call 607-547-6195.

CLINIC: ONEONTA _ The Cheerleading Team of the SUNY College at Oneonta will offer a cheerleading clinic for children in grades K through six from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Alumni Field House dance studio on campus. Participants will learn a dance, chant, cheer, and stunts. The cost for the clinic is $30 per child or $50 for two children. BREAKFAST: Lions Club’s famous Pancake Breakfasts at the American Legion Veteran’s Club on Main Street in Cooperstown from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and guests will enjoy pancakes, sausage, applesauce and real maple syrup.

Admission is $6.00 for adults and $4 for children.

LUNCHEON: The First Baptist Church of Cooperstown Soup and Chili Luncheon on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prices are $6 for ages 12 through adult, $4 for ages 3 to 11 and free under 3 years of age. The church is located at 19 Elm St. DINNER: Cooperstown United Methodist Church lasagna dinner. The eat-in or take-out dinner will be served from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Dinners are $9 for adults and $5 for children. The church is located at 66 Chestnut Street at the corner of Glen Avenue in Cooperstown. The building is handicapped accessible.

EVENT: TREP$, the entrepreneurship education program for Cooperstown Middle School students will hold its first marketplace from 10 a.m. to noon in the Middle/High School Cafeteria. The marketplace is a ôflea marketö style event where the kids will sell their handmade items and services to the public.

EVENT: The 2010 Corn Day, at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown. Registration, coffee and Danish begin at 9:30 a.m. with the educational program starting at 10 a.m. sharp and ending at 3 p.m. The conference will highlight the latest corn production research and technology with an emphasis on reduced and no-till corn production. The cost of the meeting is $25 per person. To make reservations call 315- 866-7920 by noon, Feb. 5.

MOVIE: The Otsego Regional Cycling Advocates (ORCA), is sponsoring a free showing of the movie ``Asiemut’’ at 7p.m. in the Clark Auditorium at Bassett Healthcare. The film documents a young Canadian couple’s 5,000-mile journey by bicycle across Asia from Mongolia to Tibet and Napal. Everyone is invited.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 10

CLASS: Cornell Cooperative Extension of Otsego County will hold a ``Save Energy, Save Dollars’’ workshop offering ways to reduce energy bills through no-cost/low cost energy actions. The workshop will be held at 7 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension, 123 Lake Street, Cooperstown.

This event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is necessary by calling CCE at 547-2536 Ext. 0.

FRIDAY, FEB. 12

DANCE: Doubleday Dancers Western Square Dance Club of Cooperstown Valentine’s Day Dance at the Cooperstown Elementary School on Walnut Street from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Ray Taylor will call Mainstream and Plus dances and Elma Taylor will Cue.

TUESDAY, FEB. 16

SUPPER: Christ Episcopal Church will hold its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Parish House, located at 69 Fair Street, Cooperstown. The supper will feature pancakes, bacon and sausage, applesauce and beverage. The cost for the pancake supper will be $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children under 12. PRESENTATION: Phil Metzger of USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service will give a presentation on ag carbon trading to the Otsego County Water Quality Coordinating Committee. The meeting begins at 1 p.m. and will be hosted by the Otsego County Planning Department at 140 Cty. Hwy. 33, Cooperstown. This event is free and open to the public.
