MUSIC: Woodstock’s sensitive singer/songwriter Eric Erickson will be playing at The Smithy this weekend as part of their on-going Saturday Concert Series. Erickson brought a new audience to American folk music as cohost of the long-running “Jus’ Folks” program. His new album is available on timed-release. Visit www.ericerickson. com for details. BREAKFAST: Fly-In Pancake Breakfast at the Cooperstown/ Westville Airport on Route 166 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. There will be all you can eat pancakes, eggs, real maple syrup, sausage and beverages. The cost is $6.75 for adults and $4.24 for children under the age of 12.

CONCERT: A Choral Music Concert, under the direction of Tim Iversen, will be performed by the choir of the First Baptist Church of Cooperstown at 7 p.m. It will feature traditional and contemporary choral music ranging from camp songs and hymns to rockin’ gospel music. Donations for the Cooperstown Food Bank will be collected, and a social hour with refreshments will follow the concert. The church has easy elevator access, and visitors are welcome. BOOK TALK: The Springfield Historic Society and Springfield Library will host a talk on the book, ``Ladies of Hyde Hall” by Ann Logan and Karen L. Nelson on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Springfield Library.
EVENT: The fourth annual Ellis’ Cruise-In, in memory of Ellis Harrington, sponsored by the Rozella family and the Harrington family, will be held at 12:30 p.m.The benefit will be held at the Hartwick Highland’s Campground located at 131 Burke Hill Road in Milford. Four People’s Choice trophies and two family sponsored trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m. Admission is free. Organizers ask that people bring a dish to pass. Hamburgers, hot dogs and soda will be provided. There will be ‘50s and ‘60s music by Jeff Harrington and free driver raffle prizes. The event will take place rain or shine.

Wednesday, August 25 MEETING: The monthly meeting of the Fly Creek Area Historical Society will at the former Grange Hall in Fly Creek. There will be an election of officers at 7 p.m. This will be preceded at 6 p.m. with a covered dish supper, during which there will be musical entertainment.
