FRIDAY, JUNE 4

RUMMAGE SALE: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cooperstown United Methodist Church, 66 Chestnut Street, corner of Glen Avenue.

DANCE: The Otsego Dance Society will hold a contradance from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Cooperstown. Performing will be Bernd Neumann, Rob Grassi, and Carol Mandigo, with Ridge Kennedy calling. Dancing will begin at 8 p.m. and continue until 11 p.m..

Suggested donation is $8 for adults, $4 for students and teen-agers and free for children 12 and under. The Presbyterian Church is on the corner of Pioneer and Church Streets. For more information call (607) 965-8232 or (315) 272-6110

SATURDAY, JUNE 5

RUMMAGE SALE: 9 a.m. to Noon Bag Sale at Cooperstown United Methodist Church, 66 Chestnut Street, corner of Glen Avenue.

MARKET: Cooperstown Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with 30 vendors. Located in Pioneer Alley off 101 Main St, Cooperstown. (607)547-6195.

SALE: Pierstown Grange Yard Sale, 137 Wedderspoon Hollow Road, Cooperstown from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the downstairs of the hall. Proceeds will benefit the Grange Hall Improvement Fund.

MONDAY, JUNE 7

EVENT: Glimmerglass Opera Guild’s Talking Opera 2010 series will continue with the fourth installament at 7 p.m., in Christ Church Parish Hall, 69 Fair Street, Cooperstown. The event will feature a roundtable with members of the 2010 Young American Artists Program, sharing their experiences and expectations. Free to all. Refreshments served.

TUESDAY, JUNE 8

CLASS: Debbie Wojehowski of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Otsego County will hold a ``Save Energy, Save Dollars’’ workshop offering participants ways to reduce energy bills through no-cost/ low cost energy actions. This free workshop will be held at 7 p.m. at the Extension Education Center, 123 Lake St., Cooperstown. Space is limited.

FRIDAY, JUNE 11

DANCE: The Doubleday Dancers Western Square Dance Club of Cooperstown will hold its Ice Cream Social Dance at the Cooperstown Elementary School on Walnut Street from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Admission is $10 per couple, payable at the door. For more information, call 264-8128.

SATURDAY, JUNE 12

WALK: Botanist Connie Tedesco will kick off the Otsego County Conservation Association’s 2010 nature walk series at 9 a.m. with a ``Waterfall to Waterfall Walk’’ in the Town of Hartwick. Tedesco will lead hikers to the top of Rainbow Falls and across field and forest to East Hill Falls. The mildly strenuous excursion will take approximately 2 hours. Participants should meet at 9 a.m. at Horace and Hazel Tabor Drive, across from John Bush Used Cars on County Route 11. MARKET: Cooperstown Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with 30 vendors. Located in Pioneer Alley off 101 Main St, Cooperstown. (607)547-6195.

SUNDAY, JUNE 13

EVENT: The Fly Creek Cider Mill will host ``Big Rigs’’ from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Young and old can explore a fire truck, ambulance, bulldozer, cement truck and more. Free fire/ construction hats with each child’s paid admission while supplies last. Admission is $5 with a $20 maximum per family. Proceeds will benefit the Brookwood School.

CONCERT: ONEONTA _ The Oneonta Community Concert Band will be presenting a concert to celebrate the community and the nation in the pavilion in Wilber Park. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. The audience is invited to bring their own lawn chairs. Donations are accepted to support the band’s operations. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16

FILM: At 7 p.m., the documentary ``Gasland’’ will be shown in the Cooperstown Central High School Auditorium on Linden Avenue.

``Gasland’’ tells the story of the effects of the largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in history that has swept across the United States.
