COMMENTING ON STORIES:

Coinciding with our websites redesign, we launched our new story comments feature through Disqus.

For the time being, our story comments feature will continue to have the ability to post comments anonymously. We reserve the right to require registration in the future using your name and verified email address.

THURSDAY, JULY 15

EVENT: The Cherry Valley Historical Association will be presenting `A Trip Back in Time’ - Cherry Valley in the 1880s and 1900s. A digital presentation of photos from glass plates at 7 p.m. Adults $3.00, children under 12 are free. The show will take place in the Star Theatre (Cherry Valley Village Hall) on Main Street. Refreshments will be served.

FRIDAY, JULY 16

MOVIE: Movie Night at Betty & Wilbur Davis State Park will be held from 7:30 p.m. toá9:30 p.m. The movie showing will be located in new Pavilion at the park. Popcorn and drinks will be available to purchase. The movie is free of charge but donations are appreciated. For the movie title and rating, please call the park at 607-547-8662.

EVENT: The New York State Historical Association and The Farmers’ Museum will host their 7th annual benefit gala, ``Portrait of a Gala,’’ on at 7 p.m. The gala is an evening of dining, dancing, entertainment, a silent auction and is billed by organizers as ``a highlight of the Cooperstown summer season.’’ Tickets are still available for $175 each. SATURDAY, JULY 17

BREAKFAST: The Middlefield Volunteer Fire Department and EAA Chapter 1070 will host a Fly-In Pancake Breakfast at the Cooperstown/ Westville Airport on Route 166 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. The allyou- can-eat breakfast features pancakes, eggs, real maple syrup, sausage and beverages. Adults $6.75 and children 12 $4.25.

EVENT: The Otsego County 4-H Horse Committee will host the Annual Fun Show at the Otsego County Fairgrounds in Morris. This event is to benefit the Otsego County 4-H Horse Program and is open to all individuals. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and all classes are $3. For more information, call 547-2536 ext 226.

AUCTION: The Fly Creek United Methodist Church will once again hold their annual Country Auction. Bidding begins at 10 a.m. with a preview starting at 9 a.m. The event will be held rain or shine under the big tent in the parking lot.

SUNDAY, JULY 18

BREAKFAST: Milford Post 1566 American Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of American Legion are hosting a breakfast buffet from 7 to 11 a.m. The all-you-can-eat buffet is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10-years-old. The menu will consist of French toast, pancakes, sausage gravy and biscuits, home fries, eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, muffins, coffee, tea and juice.

The event is sponsored for the benefit of the American Legion.

TUESDAY, JULY 20

MARKET: Cooperstown Farmers Market open 3 to 6 p.m. Full selection of produce, meats, cheeses, crafts. Pioneer Alley behind Key Bank. For Information Call 607-547-6195.

CONCERT: Cooperstown Lakefront Concert Series featuring Sweeter Than Honey at 7 p.m. at the bandstand in Lakefront Park. Bring, chair or blanket if desired. No charge.
