Tips for preventing swine flu



Cough or sneeze into your sleeve or use a tissue and dispose of the tissue in a covered trash bin.

Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcoholbased hand cleaners are also effective.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.

Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

If you get sick with influenza, stay home from work or school, public places and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

Clean shared space more often such as phone receivers, keyboards, steering wheels and office equipment.

Refrain from sharing personal items such as forks, spoons, toothbrushes and towels

  • Stolen Credit Card at Oneonta Wal-Mart on Jan. 8, 2008 (photos)

    Several surveillance photographs taken at the Oneonta Wal-Mart on January 8, 2008 around 11:30 p.m. The male and female in the photographs used a credit card that was stolen out of a vehicle that had been broken into while parked at the Schenevus Central School earlier in the evening. The stolen credit card was also used at two gas stations on SR-23 on Southside Oneonta and in Davenport on January 9th.
