Prizes, good food and fun will be ``par for the course’’ at a benefit Golf Tournament on Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Otsego Golf Course. The Tournament is organized by the newly created Cooperstown Rotary Foundation (CRF), a nonprofit, tax deductible organization.
Tee time is 3 p.m., with teams competing in a Captain and Crew format on the 9-hole course. The entry fee of $40 per person includes cart and greens fee plus food and beverages at the awards ceremony and reception following play. Cash and gift certificate prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places as well as a ``Closest to the Pin’’ winner on the 9th hole.
A consolation prize will also be bestowed on the team with the highest score. Foursomes are encouraged, but individuals and couples are welcome to sign up and will be placed in a foursome, if possible.
Individuals and businesses are also welcome to sponsor a hole on the course for $100.
Not only will their name be featured on the hole of their choice but also at the awards ceremony and in tournament advertising.
This inaugural golf tournament will benefit the Cooperstown Rotary Foundation, which provides funds and resources for community support within the framework of the goals and ideals of Rotary International, and to promote community awareness of Rotary International’s humanitarian efforts.
