Unatego wrestlers beat C’town, UV; Sidney’s Stafford among top seeds for class tourneys

Austin Ryan and Nate Wilsey won two head-tohead matches apiece last Thursday, helping host Unatego to dual-meet wrestling victories over Cooperstown and Unadilla Valley.

Ryan earned a 7-2 decision over Mikey Boyle at 120 pounds during Unatego’s 43- 26 non-conference defeat of Cooperstown, which featured Wilsey’s 14-0 major decision over Cullen Rathbone at 170.

Both Unatego wrestlers earned 52-second pins in a 52-18 Midstate Athletic Conference victory over Unadilla Valley as Ryan beat Brandon Brown at 120 and Wilsey stopped Kevin Prosser at 182. Unatego 43, Cooperstown 26 at Unatego; match started at 99
