---- — The Milford boys varsity team clinched the Tri-Valley League’s East Division with a nail-biting 55-54 win over Richfield Springs.
Peyton Griffiths hit a 12-foot jumper for the Wildcats with 2 seconds left in the game. He finished with a game-high 24 points.
The Wildcats (13-3, 12-1) will advance to the T-V crossover, which will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at Oneonta State against West Division champion Morris (15-1, 12-1).
Richfield Springs and Milford will compete in the Section Four Class D Tournament, which starts next week.
The Milford girls will compete in the Section Four Class D Tournament next week as well.
The Cooperstown girls will begin sectional play at home at 7 p.m. Friday. The Redskins, ranked No. 1 in Section Three Class C-1, will play No. 8 Beaver River. Admission is $3 at the door.
