While Spring Training has
returned baseball to the
national landscape, college
basketball has hit the home
stretch, giving sports fans a
month in March like none
other.
Fans can now celebrate
their love of baseball and
college basketball with the
National Baseball Hall of Fame
and Museum and two special
activities throughout March.
While college basketball
tournaments will fill the
minds of sports fans over the
next several weeks, the
National Baseball Hall
of Fame and Museum is
providing fans a chance
to determine the all-time
greatest single-season
baseball team through
``Baseball Brackets,’’ a daily
poll, exclusively at the Hall of
Fame’s Facebook page, beginning
Friday, March 5.
And in March, while sports
fans are descending on
nearby Syracuse and Albany
for tournament action, the
Hall of Fame will celebrate
the relationship between the
two sports with a special day
of programming, on Friday,
March 26.
The top 32 teams in
baseball history have been
ranked based on all-time
single-season total wins, with
runs scored as a tie-breaker.
Beginning Friday, March 5,
fans will be able to log on and
cast their votes each day on
the Hall of Fame’s Facebook
page at www.facebook.com/
baseballhall on the poll tab
to decide the winner in each
match-up as the bracket is
whittled down from 32 teams
to one.
The matchup of the two
best-ranked teams will be
scheduled for Opening Day
of the 2010 season, Monday,
April 5, as fans to Facebook
will determine the champion.
For more information and
to review the seeding and
history of all 32 teams, visit

By April 6, fans everywhere
will crown the greatest baseball
team in history. It could
be a perennial favorite or a
Cinderella story. Don’t let your
favorite get knocked out early
_ make sure you vote every
day, officials said.
