Rotary District 7170s Group Study Exchange (GSE) Committee is sToeeking qualified candidates for a cultural and vocational exchange with Taiwan from March 15, 2011, to April 14, 2011.
The exchange is for business and professional individuals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers.
Rotary’s GSE provides travel grants for teams of four to five non Rotarians to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. Led by a Rotarian from District 7170, the team experiences the host country’s culture and institutions, observes how their vocations are practiced abroad, develops personal and professional relationships and exchanges ideas.
Applicants must be citizens of the United States, be employed, reside in Broome, Cortland, Tompkins, Tioga, Delaware, Otsego or Delaware Counties, not be directly related to a Rotarian and be physically and mentally prepared for the rigorous travel schedule.
The Rotary Foundation provides each team member a round-trip airline ticket between Rotary District 7170 and Taiwan. Rotarians in the host area provide meals, lodging and group travel within their district. Six days of preparation prior to the trip are scheduled.

Students do the catwalk
Cooperstown Central School students were the stars of the show Friday night as they took to the runway. This marked the fifth year of the student-run fashion show, and there were a few added bonuses. Before the lights were turned off in the Sterling Auditorium at the Cooperstown Middle/High School, a behind-thescenes video about each designer was featured. Skinny Guys with Glasses also provided live entertainment during intermission.

Entrepreneurship program receives funding to go green
