Paul H. Lord, an adjunct instructor of environmental science and biology at the State University College at Oneonta, was installed as president of the Northeast Aquatic Plant Management Society last week at the society’s annual meeting in Westbrook, Conn.
Lord was recently honored as SUNY Oneonta’s part-time instructor of the year. His aquatic plant research focus is facilitating the control of nuisance aquatic plants by manipulating fish populations to allow insects to eat the plants. Lord will serve as NEAPMS president for one year.
The society is focused on assisting in the management of aquatic vegetation in the Northeast, providing scientific and educational advancement for members, encouraging scientific research in all facets of aquatic plant management, promoting an exchange of information among members, and extending and developing public interest in aquatic plant management, according to a media release.
