Milford Central School will host its annual Winterfest on Saturday, Feb. 9.
Festivities will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside and outside of the school. Organizers said the day will be a fun-filled family affair for the young and the young-at-heart. There will be contests, athletic activities and games that will test one’s knowledge. There will be a community information section where organizers from around the area and local clubs will have representatives present.
Entries are being sought for the Death-by-Chocolate contest. First,- second- and third-place awards will be given out. Entries should be dropped off by 12:30 p.m. on the day of the contest and marked clearly with a name and telephone number of the entrant. Judging will take place at 2 p.m.
Recipes are needed for the chili cook-off. Entries must be brought to the school by 10:45 a.m. First-, second- and third-place winners will receive a cash prize.
Organizers said pre-registration is helpful for the badminton, volleyball, chili and death-by-chocolate contests. The volleyball competition is “cross-generational,” which means each team must have a minimum of one student in or below eighth grade, one student from high school, an adult 35 or younger and adult older than 35. Both genders must be represented on the court at all time.
Additional activities are welcome. Groups that would be interested in running an activity or would like a community information table, may contact Liam Murray at firstname.lastname@example.org or 286-7721 ext. 8305.
