---- — The 2012 Bassett New Year’s Eve Gala, “All You Need is Love,” will honor Bassett nurses — past, present and future. Proceeds will benefit the Partnership for Nursing Opportunities Program, which provides Bassett employees with the opportunity to gain an Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at no cost, while continuing part-time or full-time employment.
The annual benefit, hosted by the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network, will be held at The Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown, from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., according to a media release from the Friends of Bassett.
This year’s “Beatlemania” theme will capture the spirit of the ‘60s with the music and décor of the era. Guests will be able to expect plenty of tie dye, interpretations of Beatles songs and British influences. The evening will features cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, the silent auction, the nonpareil dinner buffet, Hard Day’s Night Lounge and Bar, open bars, a midnight champagne toast and a fireworks extravaganza, the release stated.
Guests at this year’s gala will be entertained by the cast of “Beatlemania.” According to the release, the cast features performers who starred in the Broadway production. DJ Pat del Rosario also will entertain guests.
The silent auction will feature many items, including a week in an ocean-front, three-bedroom, three-bath home near Key West in Marathon, Fla., a Cub Cadet GTX 1054 Garden Tractor, a half-carat Brazilian diamond necklace, artwork, spa packages, Olympic apparel and more. Reservations are $200 per person. Black tie is optional, ‘60s style dress is encouraged, and valet parking is available.
