The League of Women
Voters of the Cooperstown
Area announces that it has
scheduled the Candidates’
Night for the Village of
Cooperstown’s upcoming
election.
The forum will be held
on Monday, March 1, at 7
p.m. in the Otsego County
Courthouse courtroom. This
is a change in venue from
the original schedule, in
order to more adequately
accommodate those voters
of the Village who would like
to attend.
The Village Election will
be held on Tuesday March
16, 2010.
The Candidates’ Night will
be moderated by league
member Maureen Murray
and all the candidates
have agreed to attend. This
includes the two candidates
for mayor, Jeff Katz and Joe
Booan, as well as the four
candidates for the two open
trustee positions: Lynne
Mebust, Sally Eldred, Doug
Walker and Alton ``Chip’’
Dunn, III. In addition, Leslie
Friedman and Mike Molloy
who are running for the
position of Village Justice will
also attend the evening.
The two Village Justice
candidates will present
opening remarks detailing
their qualifications, but will
not participate in the question
and answer portion of
the program.
The League is a non-partisan,
political organization
which does not support or
oppose any political candidate
or party. For additional
