The second week and beginning
of the third week of
October averaged about 10
degrees warmer than normal,
then we got a major
change to a much cooler
weather pattern, but temperatures
have only averaged
about five degrees
cooler than normal during
the past week.
What hasn’t changed is
the very dry weather pattern;
about three-quarters
of an inch of rain so far this
month across most of our
area, and that’s about a
quarter of the normal precipitation.
With a northwesterly
flow of very cool air, and
the storm track just to our
south, any rain we get this
weekend will be limited to
Saturday night and Sunday
morning, and will be generally
light rain.
On Friday a large high
over New England, will
continue the beautiful
weather, with brilliant sunshine
and mild, dry air;
highs from 55 to 60 degrees.
A storm system will
move from the Ohio Valley
to the mid-Atlantic states
on Saturday, and the rain
will stay to the south. Skies
will be mostly sunny in the
morning, then increasing
cloudiness in the afternoon,
with highs again from 55 to
60 degrees.
After light rain or showers
Saturday night and
Sunday morning, skies will
be mostly cloudy on Sunday
afternoon, with highs in the
low 50’s.
As the storm moves east
of the New England coast
on Monday, a cool northwest
flow will take over,
with variable cloudiness
and some sunshine and a
few lake-effect rain showers;
highs only 45 to 50 degrees.
We could get a few
snow showers Monday
night, then partly sunny
skies and highs from 50 to
55 degrees on Tuesday.
