— A pair of local fathers and sons are among the many New York Yankees fans expected at the National Baseball Hall of Fame this weekend for a tribute to the Bronx Bombers’ 27th World Series title.



``I’m going to make every effort to be there,’’ Mike Donnelly of Cooperstown said. ``My son Jack has a baseball game on Saturday but it sounds like a must-see for die-hard Yankees fans this weekend.’’



Included in the celebration at the Hall will be a special appearance of the Yankees World Series trophy, which will be on display Saturday and Sunday.



Fans will have the opportunity to take photos with the trophy, which will be on the third floor of the museum, Hall spokesman Brad Horn said.



``Jack and I came to the Hall the last time the trophy was here (in January of 1999) and it had a huge impact on him,’’ Donnelly said.



Horn said the museum received a late addition to the exhibit last weekend when Hall of Fame president Jeff Idelson received a World Series ring from the Yankees prior to Sunday’sgame against the Minnesota Twins.



The ring will be included in the museum’s Autumn Glory exhibit, Horn said.



Todd Loucks of Oneonta, a Hall of Fame member, said he plans to bring his seven-year-old son, Devon, on Saturday as well.



``It’s a great chance for him to see and learn more about the history of the Yankees first hand,’’ Loucks said. ``We’re both looking forward to it.’’



Told there would be special Yankee- themed tours of the museum over the weekend, Loucks quipped, ``Aren’t they all?’’



The World Series Weekend will extend over two days this Saturday and Sunday, honoring the Yankees with two days of programming and special events highlighting their 27th World Championship.



The Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in six games last fall.



Museum visitors will have the chance to re-live the 2009 season and create new memories at the home of baseball, where artifacts of the Yankees’ world title will be forever preserved, according to a Hall of Fame press release.



Many of those artifacts are on display in the Museum’s exhibit Autumn Glory, which celebrates each season’s playoff and World Series teams.



Programs that will be offered both May 22 and 23 at the Museum include:



• Special Yankees-related tour through the Museum offered throughout both days.



• Yankees Trivia in the Bullpen Theater, with games for all ages.



• Special Artifacts Spotlight presentations featuring artifacts from Yankees history.



• Public display of the 2009 World Champions Trophy in the Museum.



Horn said the programming should give even die-hard Yankee fans an even greater appreciation of the team’s history.



Also on Saturday, the Hall will open the special exhibit, Pinstripe Pictures, featuring photographs reproduced from the Associated Press book ``New York Yankees 365,’’ a photographic history celebrating more than 100 years of pinstripe baseball in the Big Apple. The exhibit will be on display through the end of 2010.



The photos serve as a pictorial tableau of the most successful franchise in American sports history.



``The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum records the history of our National Pastime, and the awardwinning photographs of the Associated Press have captured the game’s greatest moments for more than a century,’’ said Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson in a press release. ``We are honored to exhibit these timeless images in Cooperstown.’’



All programs are included with regular Museum admission. The Museum will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days.



Yankees fans can relive the team’s 2009 World Series title throughout 2010 through Autumn Glory, a tribute to the 2009 postseason. Among the items on display from New York’s six-game victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, which delivered New York its first World Series title since 2000, are:



• Hideki Matsui’s Game 6 bat from the contest where the World Series MVP drove in six runs.



• Mariano Rivera’s postseason cap.



• Derek Jeter’s Game 6 bat.



• Andy Pettitte’s World Series cap.



• Johnny Damon’s spikes from his Game 4 double steal



• Jorge Posada’s catcher’s mask



• Jose Molina’s catcher’s mask



• And the scorecard of Suzyn Waldman, the first female World Series broadcaster, from Game 6
